So Pooped After Daycare

That he was falling asleep with his head dangling. Unfortunately, I was unable to snap a picture before his head fell onto G$'s chest. Cutie pie.

Kairo is going to have three days of daycare back to back this week since neither G$ nor I can male it home for lunch tomorrow. We will have one pooped pup on our hands. :)

Kairo's Puppy Friends

That's Bo - the black lab - who is going to be at least 100 pounds and Kayla - the Bernese mountain dog - who will also be over 100 pounds.

Update: Apparently, only the text before the picture when I sent from my phone posted...  Here's the rest:

Bo and Kairo are best buds and play all the time. Tomorrow Bo will be joining Kairo at daycare. Awww... :) Soon Bo is going to seriously outweigh Kairo, so it'll be interesting to see what happens.

Kayla is kind of a wimp and sadly, her owners don't let her play much. They kind of coddle her, which is sad since she's missing out on the critical socialization period.

We just got in from an hour play session outside with Bo and two other dogs - Zim and Niko. Kairo is ex-hausted!!

Just another Saturday in the Hombre Rojo household

It started with a trip to the Shirlington Dog Park, where Kairo had a grand ole time playing and swimming with other dogs.  And I took entirely too many pictures.  I'll try to filter, so I don't post 20+ pictures in this post...

Climbing on the rocks.  Kairo was able to maneuver both up and down a pretty steep ravine to get down to the water.  I was impressed.

Dumbo-like ears:

Playing with other dogs.  There were four other vizslas at the park, which once again reminded G$ and I that we picked the perfect breed.  They are the perfect size, not too big, not too small.  One we saw was about 8 months old, and looked very gangly, as G$ put it, like an awkward teenager.  Long legs, not yet filled out.  I thought he was a cutie-pie.

Running through the water:

Don't make me go home...

After all the playing in the water, then rolling around in the dirt, Kairo was a mess, so the first order of business when we got home was a bath.  Unfortunately, since giving Kairo a bath is still a two-man job, I did not get any pictures, but he was a good boy.  After the bath, was a three hour nap.  Yes, you heard me right, a three hour nap!  It was GREAT!!!

After he woke up, we went for a walk around the block, so Kairo could get some more exercise and I could get my caffeine fix (we conveniently walk past a 'Bucks when we do the quick loop around the block).  And of course Kairo needed his fix as well:

And he is once again napping, so taking him to this dog park may become part of the normal weekend routine.  :)
